We had such a fun 4th of July! I ran in the Tooele 5k, enjoyed the Grantsville parade, ate lots of yummy food, celebrated Mom and Nolan's birthday, watched the fireworks, enjoyed the cooler July weather and enjoyed our time with friends and family.

My new love is this bottle...of hair oil!!! I love the way it smells, the way it makes my hair feel, the way it makes the ends of my hair look. It is probably the absolute best thing I have ever put on my hair. I use it every morning. I cannot live without it! My almost sister-in-law gave it to me about 7 weeks ago and we have been insepertable ever since. I just got me another bottle. I have never been dedicated to hair products. I usually just use and try whatever, but this is my new little obsession that makes me sooooooo happy!!! Just wanted to share this little bit of happiness!!!
I know I need to update my blog!!! My goal is to update soon! Lets see how it goes!!! :) Today is a beautiful spring day! Go out and enjoy it!!! :)

Ok! So I just read my friend Lisa's blog and now I am really feeling the guilt! She posted about people not posting on their blogs. As you are aware if you frequently drop in on my blog its very seldom that I have updated. I will try to do better! I know I say this all the time but I feel like if I don't have picures I can't post. That is just an excuse!!! I can post with or without pictures. LOL
So I will give a Valentine's Day update! I have been sick for most of last week and actually took 2 days off of work because I just felt rotten. On Friday I still wasn't feeling better so I sucked it up and went to the doctor! He gave me two antibiotics and I was on my way. Peyton hasn't been feeling real great either with a horrible cough and I took him to the doctor and got him on antibiotics. He is doing better and so am I. Because I have been a little under the weather I haven't been running :( , I missed my cousins basketball game at Weber State :( , wrote sub plabns for two days :( , and have been a little irritable. With Valentine's Day coming up I was hoping I would start to feel better. Saturday afternoon I went to Jackson's Jr. Jazz basketball and while we were there Nolan sent me a text that said he had plans for me that afternoon after the game. (He was texting me while I was sitting right by him. LOL) Nolan's big surprise for me to go and get my nails done and have a pedicure and he was going to take the kids so I could have some relaxation! I was so surprised! It was nice to spend the afternoon relaxing!!!! Thanks Nolan for the great gift!!! The kids were really fun on Sunday monring when we gave them Valentine's and then we went to my Mom and Dad's they got more Valentine's. They were so cute!!! On Valentine's night my Mom and Dad invited us over for a yummy dinner! It was so good and it was so fun to be together as a family for Valentine's Day!!! We had pork tenderloin (my Dad cooks it the BEST!!!) , mashed potato's and gravy, green beans, corn, beets, chocolate cake (sooo yummy Katelyn) and my Mom's DELICIOUS valentine sugar cookies!!!! Later we watched the Olympics and enjoyed time together laughing and laughing and laughing and talking! It was a great day!!! Thanks everyone who made it so special and fun!!! I LOVE YOU ALL!!!

Finally...2010! and Christmas

I am so happy that 2010 is here! 2009 was such a hard year. I was glad to see it end! I am looking forward to a happier 2010! I have high hopes for the new year!!!
I tried to upload some photos tonight since it has been a while since any pictures were posted but my camera jack wouldn't work that hooks into my computer. Arrrgggghhhhh. Hopefully soon I will get some pictures us. I have been getting harrassed a little bit about not posting pictures so I will soon get some up. Maybe that should be one of the New Year's Goals! Ha ha!!!
Christmas this year was spent in Grantsville with my family. It was fun to be at our own house on Christmas morning. Baylin and Peyton were so excited! Peyton could hardly believe that Santa had really come and brought presents! They are at such fun ages for Christmas! It was a great holiday. My brother, his wife Heather and my nephew Carson came from Peurto Rico to spend Christmas with us. It was so fun to have them here. All of my family was here for Christmas this year. It was good to all be together. New Years Eve was spent at the annual party at the home of Jeff and Krista Hutchins. It was a good time just like always. Good food, good company, good laughs, good white elephant gifts. We had 2 weeks off for Christmas this year and we stayed home. I enjoyed playing with the kids, sleeping in, shopping, going out with friends, spending time with family, laughing, talking, eating and just hanging out. Even though we had 2 full weeks off it felt like it still wasn't enough time. I could have used another week off for sure!!! Some of the things I am looking forward to this year are: Ryan and Katelyn's wedding (April 30th), watching the new elementary school be built, potty training Peyton, making another quilt (maybe more than one), Football season, watching Baylin in gymnastics, enjoying my kids, running the Wasatch Back (June), going to Girls Camp and much, much more!!! I have a feeling it's going to be a good year. I can't take another one like last year! I wish everyone a Happy New Year and all the good things that life has to offer!!!

One of these days I am going to post some pictures.

One of these days I am going to make another quilt.
But for now...I am just going to do the best that I can and be a little happier each day!!!

Things aren't too bad at the Grover Home. We are quite busy! I can't believe it's already November! Christmas will be here before we know it! My favorite time of year is from September to January. September kicks off football, sweaters, jackets, pumpkins and leaves changing. October brings us fun Halloween decorations, pumpkin cookies, cute kids dressed up for the holiday, jack-o-lanterns, candy and more football! November leads us to be thankful, cool, crisp air, soup, electric blankets, snow (sometimes) and more football. December brings in family togetherness, gifts, magic, hot chocolate, snow, Jesus' birth, the Festival of Trees, shopping, lots of hustle and bustle, christmas carols, a time to be thankful and a time to reflect. January brings us new beginnings, goals, cold, snowy nights, dreary days, and hope for a better tomorrow. These are some of the things that I love about this time of year! This year I am going to try to slow down and enjoy it a little bit more. As we enter the holiday season take time to enjoy and reflect on all of the little things that make us so happy. They turn into the big things that bring us so much joy!!!

Just Took A Blogging Break

I thought that this summer I would post and have all sorts of cute pictures for everyone, but no I was wrong. None of that happened. I thought things would be calm and relaxing this summer and once again I was wrong. We took a family vacation with my family because my brother Jacob and his family moved to Peurto Rico in July so right after the 4th we all headed to Park City for some rest and relaxtion and family time. We had a great time and life was good, or should I say normal. Then on July 13th everything changed. My life as I knew it was changed. Monday morning I head to school to do some work. I had been there off and on so far during the summer so it wasn't unusual for me to go. I took Peyton with me and we headed to the school. Not long after I got there I heard a popping noise coming from the faculty room and the next thing I knew the school was on fire and we headed out as quickly as possible. I called 911 and watched the west wing go up in flames. The rest is pretty much history. I am at a new school, new room, new principal, new friends, new everything! It has not been an easy adjustment by any means and I am adjusting a little each day! The rest of my summer has been consumed by fire stuff. It was a crazy summer!!! Now school has started and things have settled down a little but not much. Now back to some uplifting stuff. My baby turned 2 in August! I can hardly believe it! Time goes by so fast!!! Baylin will be 5 next week and she has a cute personality! She is talking so old and says the funniest things. She is a big help around the house and I am teaching her the sounds of letters so she can make and sound out words. She is a smart girl! Peyton is talking so cute! He says funny things! He loves Elmo and Cookie Monster. This post if just full of stuff. Sorry I am everywhere in it! Over Labor Day we went camping with Nolan's family on Cedar mountain. It was fun, but it was so cold at night!!! The kids had a blast and we enjoyed spending time with family! We are enjoying football season and watching Austin play football! Go Stallions!!! Our lives are still busy,ut now that we are in a routine it seems a little less chaotic.

Conferences, Youth Conference, Girls Camp...Oh My!

Lot's have gone on since school got out the beginning of June. We have been so busy and can hardly believe June has almost come to a close. Nolan has been to two, 3-day conferences. One was at Snow College and one was at UVU. I attended youth conference at Snow College and just got back from Girls Camp! I had a blast at both youth conference and girls camp. I love being in the young women's. I love my girls, the other member's of the presidency, the bishopric. I have gotten to know so many people in our ward. It feels like home and I like it!
We haven't made it to the pool yet and I am sad about that, but the weather hasn't exactly has been ideal for swimming! Hopefully July won't disappoint us and be hot as usual so we can have some fun afternoon's at the pool.
I love summer! I love being home with my kids and husband! I love being able to run in the mornings (during school I run at night). I love being able to sleep in if I want to. I love being able to have a pony tail and no make-up day if I want to. I LOVE the 4th of July, it's my favorite holiday! I love July! I love the heat! I love shaved ice's from the Ice Hutch! I love flip-flops! I love toenail polish! I love toe rings! I love pedicures!
This July is going to be hard. My brother Jake and his wife Heather and my cute nephew, Carson are moving to Peurto Rico on July 21st. I am so going to miss them! I am so happy for Jake and this opportunity to attend dental school, but yet I am sad. The tears have already started and they haven't left yet. I am happy they are going to have this adventure and look forward to them coming home for Christmas!
Summer always seems to go by so fast. Before we know it school will be starting up again. I love to start school, but miss those summer days! I thought I would be better at the blog thing once summer hit, but I'm not. It's easier for me to post things on facebook. I will admit that! Hopefully I will post some pictures soon! I hope everyone is enjoying their summer!

We have been so busy lately that I haven't even posted anything. We are still alive and kickin'! It's been a long week! This week has been full of ups and downs! I am looking forward to the weekend and getting to spend time with my family for Mother's Day! I am so lucky for my mother, my grandmother's and my mother-in-law. I am surrounded by great people all the time. I am so grateful to have such great family and friends! I am truly blessed! At school I am at the beginning of another core testing season. It is crazy around here! School is coming to a close for the year and I have mixed emotions about it. I have a GREAT class and I will be sad to see them move on to 5th grade. I am so thankful for my job and Nolan's job! I know this is a weird post but I just wanted to post about a few things since it has been a while. Maybe I can get caught up with my blog this summer. I Am The Proud New Owner of A...

KNEE BRACE!
I have been having problems with my right knee for a little while so it finally got bad enough that I went to the orthopedic doctor yesterday to see what was going on. They took some xrays and sure enough there is a problem with my knee. My knee cap hinge is not in the middle where it should be, it's sits on thr right side hence the pain. Treatment: wear knee brace all the time, physical therapy oncce a week and if that doesn't work they will have to do surgery. The doctor was hopeful that the physical therapy will work because it hasn't been bothering me for very long. I sure hope it works I really don't want to have surgery!!! I wore the brace all day yesterday and to the zoo and I think it helps. I exercised with it on today with no problems. I really hope I can get it taken care of. Wish me luck!!!

I have a new calling. I have been serving as a primary teacher for almost a year now teaching the kids 7 turning 8 and I have enjoyed it. Last Sunday I was called as the Young Women's Secretary. I was a little surprised by the calling but I am extremely excited for it! Today was my first day of Young Women's and they made me feel very welcome. I feel like this is where I am supposed to be at this time. We have a busy time ahead for the young women. Youth Conference and Girls Camp all fall in June this year! For those for you who know me really well, yes I am going to Girls Camp and I am actually excited to go as a leader!!! We have a great theme for camp and I think it is going to be GREAT!!! For Youth Conference we are going to Snow College for activities. Go Badgers!!! It is just an overnight trip but I am looking forward to that as well. When did they add Virtue to the Young Women Values??? Today they said it and I had no clue. I knew they added Strengthen Home and Family to the YW theme but I had not idea Virtue was now a value. That just goes to show you what our world has come to and what our young men and women are faced with! They are in a constant battle. Please pray for all the YM and YW that they will have strength to conquer!!!

One of my favorite parts about Easter time are the Mini Cadbury Eggs!!! My friend Lynsie introduced me to these decadent babies years ago while we were at SUU. I usually buy a few bags during the season. Baylin's teacher at school keeps these in her candy jar and gives them to the kids as a reward. Baylin is now officially hooked as well! At Wal-Mart last night we purchased our first bag of the season. Isn't it funny that something as small and insignificant as candy can make you so HAPPY!!!!

Just an Update

Baylin participated in the Lil' Larietts Dance Camp where she spent a hald day with the high school drill team on a Saturday and learned a really cute dance. Then on the following Wednesday all the girls in the dance camp performed at half-time of the boys basketball game. She did such a great job and she loved it!!!

Valentine's weekend we went to Cedar City and Friday and spent the night. We spent time with my brother, Jake, his wife, Heather and my cute little nephew Carson. We had a great time. The kids were so excited to sleep in a hotel. Saturday afternoon we headed over to Kanab to spend time with Nolan's family. It was a lot of fun to spend time with family! On Valentine's night we had steak and shrimp and the steak was buffalo! I was a little skeptical, but it was actually pretty good and I don't eat hardly any red meat. My first experience with buffalo and it was pretty darn good. I

Baylin and I just hanging out! It has been a busy month and it feels like we have been running all month. Our month was filled with 2 nights of parent/teacher conferences for each of us (4 nights in all), socaible meeting, 3A State Basketball Tournament, a date night (that never happens), Cedar City, Kanab, professional development day at school, mid-terms, primary, young men's, the Biggest Loser, The Bachelor, American Idol, a little fender bender on Thursday that was MY fault (my poor car, the back of it is all dented in, it makes me so sad, I hope I can get it fixed without costing me an arm and a leg!) and spending time with family and friends! It was a short month, I don't think we could have filled it with more things. It was a great month even though it was so busy!!!

Almost everytime I open this drawer I find Peyton's toys stashed in there. I think it is so dang cute! It's like his own little hiding spot. Little does he know I find it and put it back where it goes. Peyton is getting such a fun personality. It seems like each day he does something or says something new and fun. I love both Baylin and Peyton and I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to raise them and love them!!!

Draper Temple

We went to the Draper Temple Open House last week and we took Baylin and Peyton with us. It is such a beautiful temple in such a beautiful area. I absolutely loved being on top of the hill with the gorgeous temple, homes and terriffic view. We lucked out and the parking where we were supposed to park and wait for the buses to take you up to the temple was full so we were able to park right at the temple. I think it saved us about an hour which was good since we got there at 6:30pm on a Friday night and Peyton goes to bed at 7:00pm. The kids were as good as could be expected. The last temple open house I went to was the Bountiful Temple and the last one Nolan went to was the Las Vegas Temple and that was a long time ago! I hope Baylin will remember going to the Draper Temple when she gets older. What a great teaching time for Nolan and I and what a great learning experience for our kids.

My great news is that...Peyton is WALKING!!!
He is 17 months and just started walking about 2 weeks ago.
He is so cute toddling (is that even a word?) around! My
baby is not a baby anymore and he will be turning 2 in
August! I can hardly believe it. Peyton and Baylin are so
cute together. They play really good together most of the time.
They do fight a bit but not too bad. Baylin is like a little mother to him!
She absolutely adores him and he adores her. I am so lucky to have
such great kids!!! Peyton is also talking up a storm.

Ringing in the New Year!

We had our annual New Year's Eve Party and Jeff and Krista's. It was so much fun. We love to go over there for New Year's Eve! We also celebrated Tyson and my Grandpa Hutchins birthday. We had great food, great company, and a great game! We had lots of fun bringing in the New year. Jeff even had fireworks! I can hardly believe that 2008 has come to a close. It was such a great year. I look forward to 2009 with excitement! We hope that everyone had a great and safe New Year's! We sure did!!!

A White, White Christmas in Kanab

We went to Kanab to spend Christmas with Nolan's family. It was a lot of fun! We were very surprised when to got there to see so much snow on the ground. There was way more snow in Kanab than there was when we left home. It snowed and snowed and snowed until Friday. It was great to have a really white Christmas! We had lots of fun spending time with family, Nolan did 3 puzzles, we polished our Wii skills, Elaine (Nolan's Mom) made lots of yummy food, we ate lots of yummy food, we played games, and we also managed to have family pictures on Saturday morning. Santa found us in Kanab and the kids were spoiled once again. Baylin was so cute this year because she understood the whole concept of Santa. She put out cookies and milk and she wrote Santa a note. She had a ball! Our Christmas was fantastic! Thanks to all our family for making it so wonderful!

Christmas Before Christmas

Since it was our year to have Christmas with Nolan's family and it was Jake's year to have Christmas with his in-laws my Mom and Dad had all of us over the Monday before Christmas to have Christmas with the my family before Christmas. My Mom and Dad put on an excellent spread of food! It was delicious! Then of course we had presents. We got spoiled this year like we always do! My Mom and Dad got us a new 32" t.v. We have been married 6 1/2 years and we have never bought a t.v.! We have always just used the hand me downs from my Mom and Dad. Thanks Mom and Dad for everything!!! It was such a great evening with our family! Christmas is about family and the birth of our Savior. We hope that everyone had a safe and Merry Christmas!

The Lights

A couple of weeks ago we went with my Mom, Dad, and Jackson to see the lights at Temple Square. We went early enough in December that the weather hadn't gotten too cold yet. It was a very enjoyable night and it helped that it wasn't extremely cold! I love to go and see the lights. We don't go every year, but I would like to make that a tradition.

I have been kind of a blog slacker this month. It seems like forever since I have posted anything. I have been so busy Christmas shopping, baking, school, parties, wrapping, family, seeing the lights and just life! It has been such a great month. I just put a few pictures in a collage to show just a few things of what has been going on this month. My Mom worked at the Festival of Trees so I took a picture of her working. She had such a great experience and it was great to be a part of it. Nolan and the high school woodshop built a cedar chest for the event. It was auctioned off with the stuff that is with it in the picture above. It sold for way more than he expected! It is a beautiful cedar chest! I also posted a picture of our tree and the gingerbread house that Baylin and I made the other night. I have more pictures to post and I will post them when I get them downloaded. We hope that everyone is having a ver Happy Hoilday Season!!! We sure our! We head to Kanab on Tuesday for Christmas to spend the holiday with Nolan's family. We are looking forward to spending time with family, eating, cooking, playing games, laughing and being together!

Festival of Trees--A Gift of Love

Just a shout out to all those who helped in anyway with the Festival of Trees. My mom is on the committee and we had the opportunity last night to go to opening night or the "sneak peek" of the Festival of Trees. It was fabulous! So much hard work and time goes in to making the Festival of Trees a success. They had a short program, they lit the trees all at once, we did a little shopping, and we enjoyed the beauty of the trees. It was a great night! My Mom was so kind to take Baylin and Jackson today. Baylin was so excited to go. She is having a great time. I am also going to give my husband a shout out because Grantsville High Wood Shop and himself made a beautiful cedar chest that they donated to the Festival of Trees. I saw it last night at the festival of trees and it was bid on and sold. I am so proud of him! He did such a great job! I was touched and felt the Christmas spirit last night. I am taking the day off on Friday and spending the day in there. If you get a chance go down to the South Town Expo Center and enjoy the beautiful trees. I have some pictures that I will post later.

We hope that everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving. We had a great day! We are so thankful for so many blessings that we have in our lives. We even had family pictures on Thanksgiving and they went very well. We had Thanksgiving at my Grandma Johnson's and is was a lot of fun! The food was delicious! We also had fun looking at the ad's for black Friday. We had decided to shop online this year for black Friday. I waited until midnight and was able to get a door buster item online at midnight. I am not going to tell what the item is, but to get the same deal online as I would of at 4:00 am at the store is GREAT! I woke up at 6:00 am and checked the internet for some deals and I didn't really find anything that caught my eye. We decided that we really didn't need anything this year and the one item that we bought at midnight was the most important thing and we already purchased it. When I woke up at 9:00, Nolan said let's go to Salt Lake and shop. The night before we had gone through the ads and looked to see what items we needed for Christmas. They were all door busters and we decided not to head in this year. On the way into Salt Lake we looked through the ads again to see where the door buster items were located. Low and behold we were able to get every door buster that we had planned to get. We got all the same deals and we had the luxury of sleeping in. We shopped all day and when I say we I mean, Nolan, Baylin, and Peyton. Yes, we took our kids on the biggest shopping day of the year. They were so good!!! We went from store to store to store and they were awesome!!! We had such a good black Friday shopping day. I am going to say that we didn't need any BIG electronics or furniture this year so shopping online and waiting until 9:00 am to shop in the stores worked for us! We hope that everyone has had a great holiday. We sure did!

Carrie Underwood Concert

Nolan and I had a date night on Wednesday and we went to the Carrie Underwood concert. It was a lot of fun. We were in a huge traffic jam trying to get there so we missed a little bit of the opening act which was Little Big Town, but we finally made it and it was a great evening. Little Big Town was great as well. We really like that group and we were excited that they opened for Carrie Underwood!!!

Baylin is sick today, so I stayed home from school with her. She is all congested and when she coughs it sounds like a bark. I feel so bad for her. She can hardly talk. I am going to take her to the doctor today to see if we can get her on an antibiotic. I hate when my kids are sick. I feel so helpless. I hope she gets better soon. We are going to enjoy a nice day at home together. I think it is a much needed break for Baylin and myself.

Disney On Ice: 100 Years of Magic

On Wednesday night, Baylin, Jackson, Nolan, my Mom, and my Grandma Hutchins all went to Disney on Ice. It was so much fun! The show was spectacular!!! I am sorry that there aren't any pictures of us at the event but I forgot my camera and my Mom's camera had dead batteries. It made me feel like a kid again. It was so much fun to watch how happy and excited Jackson and Baylin were. We didn't take Peyton with us, he stayed with Marissa and Katelyn, I think it would have been to loud for him. We had such a fun Halloween day and night! We pretty much partied all day and night! Baylin and Peyton had a party at school that lasted the entire morning. Baylin was lucky and got to wear 2 Halloween costumes this year. She was a dancer at her school party and when we went trick-or-treating she was a cheerleader. I thought she looked adorable! Peyton was a puppy do and he even left the head part on all evening. He was such a trooper. He was a cute puppy! He even said "puppy" plain as day over and over. He is getting quite the vocabulary. We took Jackson trick-or-treating with us and he was a Star Wars character. He looked great!!! We hope that everyone had a great Halloween! I have looked at a lot of blogs this morning and it is fun to see what everyone dressed up as and did on Halloween. I love Halloween!!! My Mom has more pictures on her camera, so I will post them when I get them from her.

Primary Program

Baylin is a Sunbeam and that means she is a "first timer" in the primary program. It was last Sunday and she did such a good job on her part. She had it memorized and I was a little surprised that she remembered it when she actually had to do it in front of the whole congregation. She is getting so big! I can hardly believe it!!!

High School Musical 3 Movie Update

On Saturday we went and saw High School Musical 3 and it was a hit at our house! I thought it was really good. Baylin and Jackson were glued to it the entire time. I am not going to spoil anything for anyone who hasn't seen it and wants to, but the ending was perfect! Baylin has already asked me if we can buy the movie. I recommend it, even to those adults who are young at heart!

Yes, I must admit we are a little excited tonight about High School Musical 3: Senior Year opening in theaters today. Nolan, Baylin, Jackson and I will all be seeing the movie on Saturday afternoon. I am also going to admit that we bought our tickets online Thursday night so we wouldn't have to wait in line on Saturday and to get the free itunes download. Baylin is especially excited!!! I will post and let you know what we thought.

Jackson has been playing soccer this fall and we have been watching him this season. He is such a good little athlete. Baylin has really liked watching Uncle Jackson play. Their team name is The White Skeletons. The team got to choose their own name. I think it's a pretty cool name! Jackson is AWESOME at soccer. We hope that he continues his soccer career. We love to watch him play!

Yesterday was Snow College's Homecoming. My brother Ryan plays on the football team so we headed down to Ephraim for the big game. Snow College is undefeated this season and we weren't disappointed in the game yesterday. They got the victory against New Mexico Military. The score was 58-12! Katelyn (Ryan's girlfriend) and her family were also down the the big event. Ryan took Katelyn to Snow's homecoming dance last night. Sorry, I don't have any pictures. It was fun to watch Ryan play. This is the first game I have gone to of his. It was soooooo COLD! Baylin was such a trooper! We had a lot of fun and enjoyed another great day of football!!!

My brothe Jake and his wife Heather had a baby boy on September 2, 2008. His name is Carson Jacob Butler. I haven't been able to meet him until this weekend. Jake, Heather, and Carson came up for Homecoming at GHS! We were able to meet him. He is such a CUTIE!!! We had so much fun having them up this weekend. Babies are such a joy in life! We are so happy that he is our nephew/cousin!!!

Today at Baylin's school is was Western Day. They had been learning about western things all week long. She was excited to wear some cowgirl clothes. I didn't have any cowgirl clothes so I called my Mom and she looked through her costumes and found this pink fringe shirt, Jackson's old cowboy boots, and a cowboy hat. She was so excited! I thought she looked adorable. Thanks Mom for the help with the outfit she LOVED it!!!

New Car

It was time to trade in the small Pontiac Vibe for more of a family car. My Dad introduced us to this car and we fell in love with it almost immediately. We had been looking for another more "family" vehicle for a while but never really found anything that we were in love with. It's a 2007 Mitsubishi Endeavor with very, very low miles. It has HUGE cargo space that is one of the reasons that sold the car to us. It also has dark interior that is great for kids! We are so happy with our purchase. Thanks Dad for all your help finding us a great family car. We love it!!! :)

I promised pictures of Baylin's birthday so here they are. The picture at the bottom is of Baylin and Uncle Jackson at Applebee's. Baylin wanted to go to Applebee's for her birthday so we invited Grandpa Kevin, Grandma Jeri and Uncle Jackson to go with us. It was quite an eventful evening, but it sure was memorable! To remember the evening I took Baylin and Jackson's picture in front of the Indian at Applebee's. Baylin was spoiled rotten on her birthday! We had a family birthday party and it was lots of fun!!! Baylin each year celebrated her birthday with her Uncle Ryan. His birthday is the day after Baylin's. They are sixteen years a part in age! I can hardly believe it Baylin is 4 today!!! It seems like she was just born and I was holding her in my arms. Now she is in preschool and is full of spunk!!!
We had a big family birthday party for her on Sunday and I will post pictures of that later when I get the pictures put on the computer. I asked her what she wanted to do for her birthday and she said to go to Wal-Mart and spend some of her money that she got for her birthday. So that's what we did. She bought her a shirt, a necklace and a baby stroller. We are meeting up with my Mom, Dad and Jackson at Applebee's in a little while for dinner. She took treats to school and she was really excited. They made a really big deal about it being her birthday! It made her feel SPECIAL and she sure is!!! We love her and we are so glad that she is a part of our family.

For our Pioneer Day we watched the Days of 47 Parade on the t.v. and Baylin was in the Tooele Children's Parade. It was a really big deal! I thought it would be just a little parade , but no, the wards in Tooele went all out and put on a fabulous parade!!! She was on our wards Primary float. The theme of our float was "Native American Pioneers." I put this costume together and they made and decorated the headbands in Primary last week. She was really scared and crying before the parade and she didn't want to do it and I made her. I left her crying and when the parade got started she was fine and happy. She had such a good time and was so adorable on the float!!! I was so proud of her getting over her fear. She said there was just too many people!

Here are a couple of pictures of what our kitchen looked like when we moved in. Lets just say it's YUCK!!! First of all the blue sponged paint, the ugly rooster wall paper, the blue countertops, the particle board cabinets, and the cream tile all had to go. Last summer before we moved in we took down the rooster wallpaper and painted all the walls brown. Everything else we got rid of this summer.

Here is an update on our kitchen remodel. It is looking so good! The kitchen is almost done and Nolan has been working so HARD!!! The only thing left to do in the kitchen is put up the crown molding above the cabinets, put up the tile backsplash and put up the baseboards. I LOVE how it has turned out!!! It is so much better than what I had pictured in my mind. The cabinets are still empty and the kitchen isn't put back together yet, but we are working on it. I will post a picture when it is completely finished!!!

Here are a few more pictures from this last week. We not only celebrated the 4th of July, but we spent Saturday at Lagoon ALL day. It was a blast! We also went to the pool at Deseret Peak complex and went swimming with Ryan and Katelyn. It sure has been a busy week. We are also remodeling our kitchen and putting in new floor in the hallway and entry way. Nolan is doing all of it and it looks so good. I will post pictures when the project is complete. We are in a huge mess right now, but it will be worth it when we are all finished.

We had such a fun 4th of July. We went to the parade, got candy, did face painting, slide down the giant blow up slide at the park, endured 102 degree temperatures, went swimming at my Mom's, had a BBQ, celebrated Nolan and my Mom's birthday, ate cake and ice cream, opened presents, watched fireworks, stayed up way too late and spent lots of FUN time withy our family. We hope everyone had safe and happy 4th of July!

Peyton has a new trick. He sticks out his tongue. My brother ryan taught him how to stick out his tongue when he was about 3 months old. Peyton really had to concentrate on it but he could do it. Now he is almost 10 months old he does it on his own. It is cute when he does it now, but its not when they are older. I try not to promote it, but he is so dang cute when he does it. I bought my kids this little and I mean little blow up pool. It barely fit both of them. They had so much fun in it though. Baylin has been dying to go swimming since we got back from Mexico. We need to go to Deseret Peak and go to the pool soon!!! Maybe during the kitchen renovations we will. We are going to need to stay out of our house while it is worked on. Isn't it wonderful how the simple things brings kids so much happiness. I think I need to enjoy the little things more.

We got back from Mexico on Friday night. We had such a fun time, but we are glad that we are back! We went to Rocky Point Mexico which is about four and a half hours from Phoenix. It is also called, Puerto Penasco which I am not sure why it has two names. I have not figured that out yet. It was so warm and such nice weather!!! We really missed Peyton, because he stayed with my Mom and Dad. It was so nice of them to watch him for us! Thanks Mom and dad!!!

We leave for Mexico today. We actually don't get there until Sunday because we are driving. We drive to Blanding today to meet up with Nolan's family. Then on Saturday we drive and spend the night in Phoenix. On Sunday we drive from Phoenix to Mexico. We are really excited to go and are looking forward to getting away. We will miss Peyton though because he is staying my my Mom and Dad. I will post picutres when we get back. We get back right before Father's Day! I am so excited to get into some warm weather!!! It is just a little too cold for June!

picture of our sod. It is growing together really well and it is
starting to not look like sod anymore. YEAH!!!

Now that it is officially summer, I woke up at 6:00 this morning and have been working out in the yard since 6:30 a.m. I thought you were supposed to sleep in during the summer. Anyway, sleeping in for me is until only 7:00 or 7:30. We put sod in the front and back yard about 5 weeks ago and we are LOVING it!!! I love having grass! Today I have been working on the part in front of the living room window (the big one). I planted flowers in the front and toward the back I bought coblestone edging and put that behind the flowers and then bought two dwarf spruce trees and planted those and then bought tons of decorative rock and filled in behind the edging and the shrubs. I am really quite proud of myself. This is the first time I have ever planted or done anything in the yard besides, planting flowers in pots. I also planted flowers around a tree in our front yard. It only took me two trips to Home Depot and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg! My next project is to weed and do edging and plant flowers underneath Baylin and Peyton's windows in the front. They are the two small windows on the left of the picture. I am hoping I will be able to do that before we leave for Mexico on Friday.

School's Out...Let The Summer Festivities Begin

Thursday school got out for the summer! YEAH!!! I am so looking forward to a break from school. We have a busy summer ahead of us! Friday, we leave for our Mexico trip with Nolan's family. Peyton is not going with us, but Baylin is. I am really going to miss Peyton though. Thanks Mom and Dad for volunteering to watch him while we are away. We get back right before Father's day and then Nolan leaves that next week for a Drafting Conference at CEU. Then the kitchen renovation begins. It actually might begin before we go to Mexico. I am not real sure what Nolan's plans are for beginning that project. We are putting in new hardwood floor in our entry way, hallway and kitchen. We are tearing out our kitchen cabinets and we have bought new kitchen cainets. Nolan has started putting them together in the basement. They are going to look so good. I am also getting new countertops. They are black. I really like them. They go really well with our stainless steel appliances. I will be posting before and after pictures of the kitchen as we begin the renovation. Fixing up a house is so much work, but it is so fun at the same time!!! The first week in July I have Core Academy for 3 days and Nolan has a conference. Then we head down to Blanding for the 4th of July. My Aunt from Wisconsin is moving to Grantsville in July. We are so excited to have her back home. My cousin, Jordan and his fiance Ruth are getting married in Salt Lake on July 18th. Then we have a little time to be at home, then school stuff begins starting, August 15th. WOW! What a busy summer! I am really looking forward to staying at home and being a full time Mom.

6 Years Ago Today...We Were MARRIED!!!

I can hardly believe that six years ago today we were married in the Salt Lake Temple. Let's go down memory lane for a minute while I reminisce about that day. We were married at 3:00 in the afternoon. It was a great time. I got to sleep in. I didn't have to get up at the crack of dawn and go get my hair done. It was the perfect time. After we were married we had a fabulous dinner at my Aunt Billie Ann's. She lived in a beautiful home up in the Avenues of Salt Lake not far from the temple. Then we spent the night at the Inn on Temple Sqaure; tear, tear its not there anymore :( . The next evening we had our reception in Grantsville at the church. It was wonderful. After a long night of standing in line, we headed to Midway to stay at the Homestead Resort. It is such a beautiful place. It is so quiet and peaceful. I love it up there. I would love to go back! After a couple of nights there we headed west to Wendover where we stayed a night in a suite. It was such a great honeymoon! I am so lucky to have such a wonderful husband to spend the rest of my life and eternity with! I can hardly wait to see what the next six years has in store for us! I Love You Nolan!!! XOXO

The Cheesecake Factory...Happy Birthday Megan

This is the cheesecake I got. It is the Godiva chocolate cheesecake.
It is to die for!!! I could only eat a couple of bites because it is so rich.
You know how the pictures of food usually look better than the actual product, well not at the Cheesecake Factory. The food looks just as good in the picture as the actual product.

Nolan took me out last night for my birthday. We decided to go to the Cheesecake Factory and endure the wait because we didn't have our kids with us. We got there and there was about an 80 minute wait. We actually ended up waiting 90 minutes and that was fine by me. We just sat on the bench, watched people, talked and looked at the 8 page menu. We had a great time. The food was phenomenal and definitley worth the wait! Nolan told our waitress that it was my birthday and when we ordered cheesecake she asked what my name was. I told her and thought, "Oh no, they are going to sing to me!" When she came out with my cheesecake around teh edge of the plate was written, "Happy Birthday Megan" in chocolate syrup, and there was a birthday candle in the huge mound of whipped cream. They did sing and I blew out the candle. It was lots of FUN! From the time we walked in to the time we walked out it turned out to be a 3 hour event. We had such a great time just being together. My brother Ryan and Mom and Dad watched Baylin and Peyton. Thanks guys for watching our kids so we could go on a date!!! We Love You!!! Thanks Nolan for a fantastic birthday dinner! It was GREAT!!! Well, I am now 25 and I can hardly believe it! It has been a great 25 years and I am looking forward to the next 25 years!

My brother Jacob and my cousin's wife Jillian graduated from SUU this weekend. We all went down to celebrate his accomplishment this weekend. We stayed in St. George at the condo and it was lots of fun!!! The weather was great! The kids were able to swim and we spent lots of time soaking up the sun. We had fun being with family. Congrats Jacob!!! We are so proud of you!!!

Kellon's Baby Blessing-Logan

We have been so busy!!! Nolan's sister Hayley and her husband Bryan blessed their baby boy Kellon last weekend and we were able to go to Logan Saturday and Sunday to be there. It was so nice to be with family and share time together. Baylin and Peyton really liked it because we stayed in a motel and they were able to swim. They had a blast!!!

Outdoor Survival Trip

On Thursday and Friday I was able to attend the outdoor survival trip that Nolan is in charge of. Nolan teaches outdoor survival at the Jr. High and each semester he takes the students on an overnight camp trip. This semester was the girls turn. He took 54, 8th grade girls on an overnighter. I had the privilege to go this time. I was not too thrilled to go because I would be leaving my kids, my students and making sub plans for two days. I wouldn't be able to use a shower, wear make-up or have running water. I didn't really want to go but I decided I would give it a try. Well I need to rewind and say that I had a GREAT time! It was so much fun. We rode four wheelers, ate great food and had good company. I got sunburned but it was worth it. Part of this trip is the girls have to make a shelter for them to sleep in. Yes you heard me right, NO TENTS!!! They built their shelters out of branches and the fluffy green part of a tree. This is what they slept in. It took the majority of the girls about six hours to build their shelter. They had to build one for their grade in outdoor survival. I thought that it was insane. I least I got to sleep in a tent!!! Most of them were good sports and they built the shelter and slept in it. I was really impressed with the girls. They did a great job! Nolan takes them on a three day trip in May and I would really like to go but I can't leave my school kids at the end of the year for that long. The canyon they will be camping at is only about 10 minutes from our house so I think I will be making some trips up after school to check on them. The trip we went on consists of 54 teenage girls, 7 teachers and one administrator. There is so much work that goes into these trips, but I thought it was worth it!!!

5K Run

Nolan and I did a 5K this morning. It was so great! It was a beautiful day to go for a run! We came in 78 and 79th out of 209, so we felt pretty good about that. It was our first one! I plan to do more, but I am not sure about Nolan. Maybe I can convince him to sign up for another one!

For Easter we were in Grantsville and celebrated with my family. On Saturday we went out to "Easter Island" and celebrated. We rode four wheeler's, ate, shot clay pigeons, made smores, and spent some good quality time around a nice warm camp fire. We have such great memories of going out there, I am so lucky to be able to carry on the tradition with my children.

Baylin and I went and saw Disney Princesses on Ice last Saturday at the Energy Solutions Arena. It was so much fun! Baylin had a really good time. We had 5th row seats so it seemed as though we were actually part of the show. Baylin said that her favorite princess is Cinderella. The performance was so amazing. I was so amazed with all the different things they could do on the ice.

Jessica wanted me to post this recipe. It is really great! It is good for you as well. Try it!+

Beef Noodle Bowl

1/2 lb. linguine, uncooked
3 cups broccoli florets (I use frozen, its easy)
3 carrots peeled (I use baby carrots and I put in as much as I want!)
2 tsp. oil-EVOO
1 lb. beef sirloin steak, cut into strips
1/4 cup Kraft Asian Toasted Sesame Dressing (secret ingerdient, just kidding!)
1 Tbsp. teriyaki sauce

COOK pasta in a large saucepan as directed on package, adding vegetables to the boiling water for the last two minutes. I usually add the carrots before the broccoli. They tend to take longer to cook than the broccoli.

MEANWHILE, heat oil in large nonstick skillet. Add meat; cook until browned on all sides, stirring occasionally. Stir in dressing and teriyaki sauce; cook 2 min. or until sauce is thickened, stirring occasionally.

DRAIN pasta mixture; place in large serving bowl. Add meat mixture; toss to coat.

ENJOY!!!

Baylin Has Picture Day and Peyton is Getting His Two Top Teeth

Baylin had picture day today at school. She was so excited to have her pictures taken! I thought she looked adorable.

Peyton has a cold so I stayed home from school with him today. He is getting his two top teeth and his gums are so swollen. I think that is why he doesn't feel very good. I hope those darn teeth come in soon. I feel so bad for him. He loves his johnny jumper. He thinks it is the best to jump and play in it! He is so happy even though he doesn't feel very good.

We got a new kitchen table today! I am so excited! We have been wanting one for a while. It fits our kitchen just right. It has stools with no backs, so we bought Baylin a stool with a back because we weren't sure how she would do with no backs on the stools. We are looking for some stools with backs that we like. I like the stools it came with though. They are lots of fun!

What were you doing ten years ago?
I was 14, Freshman at Grantsville High School. I was interested in tennis and being with my friends. I am sure I was interested in boys too, but no one really sticks out in my mind that year.

I would go shopping so I can decorate my house more, buy new clothes, get a fence, finish our basement, buy new living room furniture, add on to our house,save money for our kids, pay off debt, travel to wherever I wanted to go, buy a condo (for vacation), pay my tithing and donate to charity.

3. I would love to be a Chef. I would love to take cooking classes! I would cook and cook if someone would clean-up after me. That is the worst part of cooking!

It sure has been a while since the last time I blogged. Here is an update on what has been going on in our lives. The day after Valentine's Day Noland and I went to Salt Lake and spent the night at Little America. My Mom and Dad kept Baylin and Peyton for us. We had a nice time. We went to The Macaroni Grill, saw "Fools Gold", did a little shopping. It was so much fun! Over President's weekend we bought a new kitchen table. We had to order it so we don't have yet, but hopefully not too much longer until it arrives. It is tall, black and has four stools. It is just what we have been looking for. I don't know how well Baylin will do with the stools because they don't have backs, but I am in the process of looking and buying some new stools. I have found quite a few that I like, I just need to narrow it down. Nolan and I spoke in church on Sunday. I was so nervous. Nolan did a great job and I think I did well. I am so glad that it is over though. This week is extremely busy. Nolan and I both have parent/teacher conferences on Tuesday and I have them on Thursday as well. On Friday I am in charge of rollerskating at the elementary school and that goes from 5:00-9:00 p.m. Each teacher has to take two days. I have already done one day so Friday will be my last day. YEAH!!! The most exciting thing that I think has happened is over the weekend my brother Jacob and his wife Heather told us that they are expecting a baby in late September. I am so EXCITED for them!!! There is a wrap up of what has been going on!

Happy Valentine's Day!!! We woke up this morning to two feet of snow! That means, NO SCHOOL!!! So, Nolan and I got a teaching break today. When school resumes tomorrow we will then celebrate Valentine's Day at school. I guess Valentine's Day this year will last two days. How FUN!!! I hope that everyone has a HAPPY VALENTINE"S DAY!!! Be careful out there if you are out and about. I was coming home from school yesterday and made it Tooele without any problems just really slow. Then I stopped off at Wal-Mart to grab a few things for my class Valentine's party. On my way home, I slid off the road right in front of the post office and I was STUCK. I turned on my hazard lights and called Nolan. As I was sitting off the side of the road a truck pulled over to help me. Him and his wife got out and it was our neighbors from Stansbury Park. He got me out and I was on my way. I am so thankful for nice people who are willing to help.

Baylin's 1st Haircut

Believe it or not Baylin is 3 1/2 years old and she has NEVER had a haircut. Baylin was actually bald until she was about 14 months old. Last weekend we took Baylin to Great Clips to get her hair cut for the first time. The lady was really nice and Baylin was really brave despite how nervous she was. The lady took off four inches. I think she looks really cute! It is so much easier to do now!!!

President Monson...Our Beloved Prophet

Wow! What a week it has been for our church. With the death of our beloved Prophet President Gordon B. Hinckley; came mixed emotions in the Grover home. It brought saddness, joy, and peace to our home. We all knew that President Monson would take over as our prophet, seer and revelator. What a comfort to know who would become our leader. We are so blessed to belong to a church that is so organized. I am so excited to get to know President Monson as our prophet. I have faith that he will do great and marvelous things for our church. I am so grateful to have the knowledge I have about the Gospel andto have been raised my goodly parents who love the Lord and have taught me to do the same. I hope that as a mother and I can raise my children in righteousness.

Brad Paisley Concert

On Thursday night Nolan and I went to the Brad Paisley Concert at Energy Solutions Arena in Salt Lake City. It was a BLAST!!! Rodney Atkins came with him and he was excellent as well! Also, Chuck Wicks came and was the very first act. He sings the new hit song, "Stealing Cinderella." He was very entertaining as well. It was a fun date night! I would definitley see him again! He is my favorite country male artist! Brad Paisley is quite the entertainer! If you like country and ever have the chance to see him, DO!

Update on Peyton

Peyton is doing much better with his RSV. It has been almost a week and he has come a long way. We are giving him breathing treatments and those are helping. The most important thing is that we have stayed home!!! The only place he has been is to my Mom's while I am at school or to the doctor. He is also teething and that hasn't helped any. About two weeks ago he got is two bottom teeth and it looks as though he is getting his two top teeth. We are hanging in there and so is Peyton!
